Always ups and downs here. A bit of welcome publicity, uncomfortably as it is, after a few weeks of expensive disasters. Klargester tank rising from the ground, that the insurance company won't cover repairs for, an accident with the ice cream trailer... Nicola also lost car keys for 2 hours last week whilst delivering veg boxes in Callander. Distracted by rescuing an injured bird 🐦 🙈. Really hoping that counts as the third thing for this month!

This was way back on the 10th July. That seems like so long ago! So much goat milking, ice creams made, veg boxes delivered, and more since then. Nevertheless, this was such an exciting moment when Lana was sunbathing on the SSSI and took advantage of me saying hello by resting her head on my lap. You can see how thrilled I was by the idiotic grin on my face. Lana has become the uncontested star of the cow herd. She's always the first to come to say hello and come into the pen. In fact, she often stays there after we've all left. She and 3 of the other cows have just completed the AI process, so hopefully, she will calve for the first time next year. #cowcuddles

We've been busy prepping for another Pop Up in Cal

We've been busy prepping for another Pop Up in Callander tomorrow morning. There will be ice cream to eat on the spot and take home tubs, our freshly picked veg and some joyous bouquets of Achray Farm grown flowers. Ellie and Poppy will be serving you tomorrow. Pop in to say Hi!

Suddenly, so much fruit is ready! Today was a blackcurrant day. Blackcurrant and a hint of lemon thyme sorbet and then Blackcurrant Ripple. We will be at #callanderconnect on Main St this Saturday and have some eat at home tubs in a variety of flavours for sale as well as our scooping freezer. I may never tub Blackcurrant Ripple again, so that could be a limited edition! Also,organically grown veg and flowers from the farm.

This week's veg box: mixed size carrots, radishes, garlic (1 or 2 depending on size), fennel, spring onions, broad beans, lettuce, kale and parsley!

The radishes are delicious raw (on crusty bread with butter and salt - why not!?) as well as stir-fried, and the fennel is tasty steamed with butter or roasted with a lid on (really nice inclusion in a meat roast, stems included!). Happy veg eating everyone!! Let us know what you create xx

We have one fortnightly space on our veg box schem

We have one fortnightly space on our veg box scheme become available. Deliveries to Callander and collection points in Brig o'Turk and Aberfoyle. Send us a message if you would like to sign up. It costs £17 per box, and we ask you to commit to 9 boxes (once a fortnight) across the season. You can take a break if any on holiday etc. Salad leaves, greens, beans, heritage tomatoes, peppers, and aubergines are all planted and growing well. 😋 #regerativeagriculture #eatlocal
