Road trip to @drumturk_cheeses with Moray to return him to his owner, Denise, the amazing cheese-maker. Beautiful journey to just past Bridge of Cally, with the (mostly) perfect companion. He didn't pee until 20 mins before we got there! Hopefully, we should have lots of Moray's kids born in late April/early May.

Dismantling day. This amazing bunch turned up on a dreich day to help with Mission Polytunnel. It looks like we may have just enough spare parts to rebuild!

1st Feb. How many days until Spring? Cows devouring a fresh bale of haylage. The investment in the small tractor has made a world of difference to feeding them over the winter. The goats temporarily head out onto the grazing for a very brief walk, but mostly to steal the cow molasses mineral lick, even though they have their own in the barn! Nevertheless, the colours this time of year have their own beauty, and the quiet and slower pace is to be savoured! The goats are not due to kid until later this year (April), so this February, there will be time to progress other jobs. There is as always a long list!

Like so many market gardens, our 20m polytunnel was blasted relentlessly with the westerly winds last Friday and slowly, but surely the frame was bent by their strength. It was painful to watch it happen over a period of several hours. It had been built less than a year ago. We have started the process of trying to salvage the parts we can and have a great community of folk who have volunteered their time to help. There were already many infrastructure jobs on the "To Do" list before the start of the coming season. This wasn't one of them, but it's often the way!

We are busy preparing to attend our first Christmas.market on the 7th December. Ice cream and sorbet available to pre-order for collection. We have Spiced Apple, Scottish Tablet, Amaretto ice creams. Christmas Sorbets in the making tomorrow, we will announce the flavours once they've been made and passed the taste test! Always ups and downs here. A bit of welcome public

Always ups and downs here. A bit of welcome publicity, uncomfortably as it is, after a few weeks of expensive disasters. Klargester tank rising from the ground, that the insurance company won't cover repairs for, an accident with the ice cream trailer... Nicola also lost car keys for 2 hours last week whilst delivering veg boxes in Callander. Distracted by rescuing an injured bird 🐦 🙈. Really hoping that counts as the third thing for this month!
