Welcome

Welcome to Achray Farm in The Trossachs.  Since 2016 we have been using regenerative principles to create a modern smallholding tending our veg, fruit and animals.

Holiday lets are available all year at Old Farmhouse and The Cake House where you can relax and walk, cycle or chill without taking the car any further. You can be engaged in the farm activities or entirely in your own space.

In 2020 Achray Farm launched our own small batch artisan ice cream and sorbet with our own dairy and creamery, using seasonal farm fruits and local foraged flavours, changing weekly. In 2024 events were first scheduled around the animals and the market garden in development for some years.

Stay and Visit

Achray Farm is at the heart of the Trossachs in Brig o’ Turk. Our sustainable permaculture and low-input farm produces supplies with provenance and love. We currently have a dairy, creamery, polytunnel and market garden, many goats, a few cows, two ducks and cats.

The farm sits on the Great Trossachs Path and visitors are welcome anytime as we have a literal ‘open gate’ policy. Dogs on leads please and sustainable transport preferred for visitors. We only have parking for our holiday-let guests and disabled access (please walk from the Byre Inn or access by vehicle along the Three Lochs Forest Drive).

Holiday let renovations started in 2018 when the biomass heating system replaced fossil fuels and the Old Farmhouse re-opened as guest accommodation. A more extensive rebuild and restoration of the Cake House followed in 2019-20.

There are more photos, reviews and history here, or click direct for online availability information on the Old Farmhouse and the Cake House.

We had the most incredible time! Loved everything about our stay: the house, the animals, the ice cream, the people, and the area. 10 out of 10!

Eat and Produce

Since 2020 we have been creating small-batch artisan ice cream made from our own dairy, plus dairy-free sorbet, both with seasonal ingredients and local Trossachs foraged flavours.

Follow our Instagram and Facebook pages for updates on opening times.

Ice cream season is late May to October — keep an eye on social media for news. See more information, directions and sample flavours here.
Our usual times are around the other farm activities 11:00am to 5:30 – weather permitting.
For the school holidays and sunny weather we’ll be open all week but closed if it’s very poor, cold or rainy weather to give us time to catch up on other jobs here. We have seating at the farm and you may see the goats out in the fields or grazing on the Forest Drive.

In 2023 the market garden was developed to deliver fresh, healthy produce using regenerative permaculture principles; building soil health and without artificial inputs. As well as farm tours and grower’s tours we also offer veg box schemes and produce sales.
